Detroit Supports the Warfighter.

As the warfighter’s needs change in theater, Detroit-area Land Systems defense contractors, such as General Dynamics Land Systems, BAE, and Force Protection, are tasked with rapidly modifying and improving the vehicles and vehicle-support programs our soldiers and marines depend on. (See “Southeast Michigan companies to get share of $800 million in defense awards” Crain’s Detroit Business, Dec. 7, 2010.)
Automotive and commercial-truck professionals in the Greater Detroit Area have the technologies and experience the defense industry seeks for improving ground combat vehicle mobility and service and enhancing the survivability of the soldiers and marines that rely on them.
Powerplay Communications has the experience and resources for connecting automotive/commercial-truck professionals to the defense industry, providing consulting in the defense acquisition process and developing proposals targeted for the decision-makers in this quickly changing and growing industry.
Automotive or commercial-truck businesses looking to provide services or products for defense will need help in communicating proposals to defense contractors and the government. The processes and language of the defense industry are much different than the commercial world. For example, the term “maintenance” in an automotive dealership carries a vastly different meaning than what would be understood by a ground combat vehicle logistician or mechanic.
The defense industry has grown significantly in the Greater Detroit Area. In fact, the majority of ground combat vehicle programs are now based in the Detroit Area. Recently, U.S. Government defense programs have significantly increased their staff and added new facilities in the Detroit area. (See “TACOM sees big hiring ahead,” Crain’s Detroit Business, April 18, 2010.)
If you represent a business looking to provide products or services for ground combat vehicle systems and are not sure how to get started, contact Powerplay Communications. We can help you speak the language of the defense industry.
